Q: How many worship services do you have?
A: We currently have two worship services and two children's church sessions: Every Sunday at 8:00am and 11:00am. We additionally offer Bible Study each Tuesday at 12:00pm and 7:00pm.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: There is not a dress code at St. John's.
Q: How do I join St. John's Congregational Church?
A: There is a point in every worship service (Invitation to Discipleship) when the pastor will ask you to pray. Once God speaks to a person's heart, it is then that the person leaves his/her seat and walks towards the altar. For unsaved people, this is a step towards accepting Christ as their personal savior. For saved, unchurched people, this is a step towards reuniting with the church. A member of the Philip Ministry will escort the individual to a private room for brief counseling. Individuals receive a new members "Welcome Brochure" with pertinent information regarding our biblically based principles, on becoming a Christian, the various ministries, and they are also given New Members Orientation and Baptism schedules.
Q: How do I become a member of St. John’s?
A: Once you have placed your trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will be contacted by the New Members Education Ministry to register in an Orientation Class. Classes are held in the evenings and all classes are held at the church.
Q: What are the privileges of membership?
A: As a member of St. John’s Congregational Church you are privileged to join and serve in various ministries. Also, you have a staff ready to address your needs and are welcome to services provided by the church.
Q: I've recently moved. how can I let the church know?
A: Notification of any changes in a member's contact information (address, phone numbers, e-mail address) or any other information such as changes in marital status, children, or business information should be directed to the main church office. Please call 413 734-2283 ext 10 and speak to the receptionist who will take your information.
Q: How do I join a ministry?
A: First, you must complete New Member Orientation You may then join a ministry by either 1) attending a meeting, 2) contacting the ministry leader via phone or email, or 3) contacting Janis Jordan, Ministry Coordinator at

Q: How do I let the church know when someone is ill and needs prayer?
A: If a person needs to report a member, friend or family member that is sick, or hospitalized they should contact the church office at (413) 734-2283, ext 10. Caller should provide the person's name, location (hospital, nursing home, etc.), and additional relevant information. The Diaconate will be notified, and the person will be added to the church prayer list.
Q: My relative has passed away. How can the church assist me in this time of bereavement?
A: If a person needs to report a deceased member, friend, or family member they should contact Deacon L. Maxine Hall. The Diaconate will also assist, if needed with funeral arrangements for the deceased.
Q: I would like to have my baby Christened. What do I need to do?
A: Infant Christening and Dedication dates are assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, need additional information or need to schedule the Christening please the receptionist at 413-734-2283.
Q: How do order recorded sermons on CD or cassette tapes?
A: For your convenience, you may order cassette tapes, videotapes and CDs by contacting Danielle Cuen at 413-734-2283 X13.
Q: How can I get an announcement read from the pulpit?
A: All pulpit announcements must be faxed to the church office 413-747-8892 no later than Thursday at 1:00pm. All pulpit announcements must be submitted in a formal format which includes: name of event, theme, date, time and location. Please note that the presiding minister reserves the right not to read the submitted announcement.

Church and ministry announcements take precedence over outside announcements. Outside announcements must be approved by the Pastor’s Wesley’s office and are placed based on space availability.
